Brief account about the ancestors
:

This point has already been touched upon in part (a) under profile. However the most creditable point in this regard is that my ancestors had initiated phad painting 600 years ago as a peculiar art quite independently with clear standing about its uniqueness and matchless merits with a wider vision and scope for further promoting and carrying it to a still greater height. My grand father Shri Jarava Chand to his credit was a widely renowned artist of his time and to immortalize the art he disclosed all the minutest secrets of it to his promising son Shri Gheesu Lal. It is a fact which in psychology is termed as PASS ON INSTINCT which keeps the culture alive. Thus the wise saying 'like father like son' holds goods in this particular case.

Luckily this pass on instinct never and no stage ceased to exist, it solely continued to flourish in its wholesome originality only in the Joshi family of Shahpura, this process of immortalizing the art was quite safely entrusted to his equally gifted son Shanti Lal (myself) who sincerely and arduously devoted to the art along which his three able and interested sons, wife and daughter.

PRESENT DEVELOPMENT :

Again this significant point has also been covered by part (c) under the profile above. However it is worth noticing that full justice has also been done to two widely popular religious sects of Jains and Ram snehees, the later being the followers highly pious and revered saint Dharmacharya Shri Ramcharan Ji maharaj whose holy shrine Ramdwara exists in Shahpura The history both these religious sects has too been artistically depicted. Mahaveer Swami happens to be so great Avtar that his most pious and revered saint has left a valuable message of nonviolence, truth and purity. To the man kind whole.

We would be failing to do justice to this traditional and culture if the world renowned holy book "Bhagwat Geeta" is allowed to be lost sight of. But happily we are earnestly engaged at present to depict panoramically the events related to this book most widely and graphically has deservedly found its entry in the national libraries all over the world.

Things do not end here strictly in accordance with our traditional schools of art my family has arduously been at work to carry out the new and unique project thoughtfully conceived and under taken. However this project being a matter of trade secret it can be made known only to the deserving persons so that they may not be misguided by the so called 'Joshi' artist who wrongly pass for the Joshi artist of SHAHPURA - 311404.

It would not be out of place to bring to your kind perusal that these days the so called Joshi artists are in no way related to my ancestors to whom goes the credit for the initiation and innovation of the genuine phad paintings as such in the real sense of this school of art. Please allow me to assert that one would easily find a world of difference between the genuinely original art and the imitation thereof by the artists who wrongly pass for the so called Joshi artists. Their profession to be real Joshi artists is at once a plain fraud, bogus and hollow claim that fails to stand to test. As yet no other artist other than that of Shahpura has been given the honour of winning National Award.
